The League of Kansas Municipalities co-presents Local Government Day with the Kansas Association of Counties in Topeka. City officials visit with legislators about issues important in their communities. The afternoon consists of programming related to the League's Statement of Municipal Policy, followed by a reception to network further with legislators. 

The Municipal Training Institute (MTI) is a continuing education program designed for both elected and appointed city officials. Appointed officials must be employed by a city in Kansas to participate in the Institute. The purpose of the Institute is to provide an interactive curriculum of specialized instruction that will develop the knowledge and enhance the leadership abilities of those who serve the cities of Kansas. The League hosts legislative events throughout the year.  These annual gatherings provide a unique platform for city officials and key personnel to connect, exchange ideas on the daily challenges faced by cities, and stay abreast of recent legislative developments at both state and local levels. Join us for an afternoon opportunity to participate in discussions that matter most to your community. League staff will help lead the discussion and answer questions, and Legislators will be invited to attend.
