Legal Inquiry

Inquiry Service

The League answers over 1,000 inquiries each year from local officials on issues ranging from requests for sample ordinances to complex questions requiring considerable research. Any city official or employee of a League member city can contact us with a legal inquiry or question.

*City officials should remember that the League’s attorneys serve as a resource to provide general guidance on legal issues. We do not directly represent your city, and our legal guidance should never be substituted for that of your city attorney.

Before picking up the phone, please keep in mind that some questions may be answered by visiting the Legal FAQ section.

For more information, contact the League office at (785) 354-9565 and ask to speak with Nicole Proulx Aiken, Sage Pourmirza, or John Goodyear.
