The League of Kansas Municipalities will co-host Local Government Day with the Kansas Association of Counties on January 28, 2026. This event is for city and county members of both organizations. In the morning or early afternoon, make appointments to visit with your legislators about issues that are important to your community. The updated copy of the Statement of Municipal Policy outlining League priorities may be found here: https://www.lkm.org/page/SMP The afternoon will feature an overview of the legislative session, and how you can get involved in the legislative process. Leadership from both chambers have been invited to speak, as well as the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. Check back closer to the event dates for confirmation of speakers. City and county officials are then invited to join us for an evening reception with legislators in the second floor ballroom at the Beacon. All legislators are being invited to this event. This event is free to attend, but please register/RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for refreshments.
