MTI: Code Enforcement and Nuisance Abatement Blight and nuisances are a continual point of conversation and frustration for many cities around the state. Within our cities, code enforcement is used to resolve health, safety, and public nuisance problems that may adversely affect the quality of life for citizens. In this MTI, we will explore the legal authority cities have when responding to code complaints and nuisances. We will review the process of code enforcement and discuss best practices for cities to use when addressing property maintenance and blight in their communities. - Developing city ordinances for blight and nuisances
- Minimum Housing Code
- How to deal with constituents
- Use of municipal court or administrative procedures
This class is taught by the League’s General Counsel John Goodyear.

Cost to attend this course is $75 for members, $100 for nonmembers, and includes lunch.
