At the Annual Conference of the League in Wichita, (September 16-18), the Nominating Committee will submit a slate of city officials for consideration by the membership for election to the League Governing Body. The League cordially invites nominations from any city official with an interest in serving in one of four open positions of director (three-year term) or as vice president or president. Nominations also may be submitted by one city official on behalf of another, with the other city official’s consent.
The Governing Body consists of 12 directors, a president, vice president and past presidents who meet 6 times each year across the state. Members of the Governing Body are expected to make a commitment to attend all meetings and participate on subcommittees. Any travel expenses are paid by each member’s city. Nominees typically have some prior service on a League policy committee or task force.
